Gmail Message Reporting for Groups

I have been running the following successfully to get a message count for users: 

gam report users select users first.last fields gmail:num_emails_received range 2024-01-01 2025-01-01

I have been asked to run a similar command on some of our Google Groups, but I cannot figure out the syntax. 

I'm running GAMADV-XTD3 7.05.08

This question is asked all the time and there is no way to get it with GAM. the Reports API doesn't report on groups.

Ross: Thanks for the follow up. 

That was what I was afraid of when I couldn't find any documentation. 

I did try this for one member of the group: 

gam user first.last print messages query "after:2024/01/01 before:2025/01/01 list:group_name in:anywhere" countsonly

It gave me counts. Not sure if it's right or not.

If you try that for a handful/all members of a group it'll be interesting to see the variance in the counts.

The numbers are different based on how many group messages each user deleted.
