Is there any way, via GAM, to set the mail delivery preference for the owner of a group to NO EMAIL?

In this case, the owner doesn't want the email but wants the ability to add/remove users from the group.  I have hundreds of groups to make this change on, but can't find a way via GAM to set that.  I have to go into cpanel to Groups Service to set that.

Thanks.
Keith

The delivery preferences aren’t exposed via the API for Groups (Settings or Directory), so it’s not available in GAM.  And yes, that’s really annoying.  Maybe upvoting (or, if one doesn’t already exist, creating) a Feature Idea suggesting that to the Groups team would be a good idea?

Cheers,

Ian

You should be careful with the groups command too.  I don't know if it's been corrected yet, but I discovered that if you make some mass changes to groups it can actually reset some of the group settings, like sending permissions, back to the default for the domain.  For example I have a group that contains all of the members of the domain and it is restricted so only a few upper level administrators can send to it.  I was trying to change the "show group in directory" option in bulk and after I ran the process it did change the setting I wanted on all of the groups successfully, however it also reset sending permissions so now anyone in the group could send to the entire domain.  Needless to say this was a bad thing and it was not evident that it had happened.  The changes to those setting didn't appear to be logged anywhere.  Anyway, just an fyi, be careful with group commands.

Thanks,
Richard

This is an API thing though, not a Jay and Ross thing. hehe

to GAM group
As the APIs dont support this, you could look at a filter for the user to delete the emails as they arrive
Something like List:(<list-number-1> OR <my-other-list> OR <this-list-bob-owns>) would get the emails for those groups and you can then Skip Inbox or Delete etc as required
