Is there an option to set/update sharing permissions via gam?

Hi,

I was wondering if you guys are familiar with scripting the sharing options via gam cli or api.

It appears that neither 'create' nor 'update' has an option for setting or updating permissions. I was wondering what would be the simplest/best approach when we need to create 100 rooms with restricted permissions?

Hi Ross,

Thanks for your reply. Apologies for not making myself clear enough but I was referring to the sharing options of calendar resources rather than google drive :-). What we need to achieve is create about 100 calendar resources via gam cli with restricted permissions to everyone in the company and then open the permissions after a couple of days to specific users. Is there an easy way that you're familiar of to achieve this?

Here's the general idea.

gam create resource OldResource 'Old Resource' description 'Old Description'

                    xxxxxxxxxxx yyyyyyyyyyyyyy             zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

xxxx - ResoureID, not generally seen by user

yyyy - The name that the users will see

zzzz - Long description


gam info resource OldRresource


This will give you resourceEmail of Resource


gam calendar <resourceEmail> add reader|writer|freebusyreader user us...@domain.com

gam calendar <resourceEmail> add reader|writer|freebusyreader group gr...@domain.com


gam calendar <resourceEmail> showacl

Hi Ross,

Thanks for your assistance so far, it's much appreciated!

I was wondering if you could help me with another enquiry I had. Apparently I am trying to use the gam licenses capability and would like to retrieve the number of available licenses we have. Once we reach the 75 licenses available let's say I would like to notify myself via email. I can print all licenses for all products we have but I was wondering if there is a way to get the number of available licenses?

There is currently no API method to determine the number of free or total licenses you have. All you can see is assigned licenses.
