GAM Sendas Group email

Looking for confirmation of behavior as I had some trouble with this before.

I'm trying to give all group members a SendAs address of the group, with the reply to also going back to the group address, and not the sender. 

gam user us...@domain.com add sendas group...@domain.com name "Group Name" replyto group...@domain.com treatasalias true

I've done this before with another group email address before, and replies went back to me and not the group. Can anyone confirm

Yes,

I think the difference may be the last time I modified the replyto it was to a user account address, not a group. Replies were still being sent back to me. I can test that later but for now it is working for me.

So check the email logs in the admin panel, and you can see if the message was delivered to you through the group or direct to you.

Bumping this as the issue is persisting and Google Workspace support has been less than stellar.

• I have a SendAs configured for 8 members like so:  gam user us...@domain.com add sendas group...@domain.com name "Group Name" replyto group...@domain.com treatasalias true
• The main purpose is sending to an all company group a...@domain.com
• For the a...@domain.com exclusively, The reply to address for emails sent using the configured SendAs is populating as the user who authored the message, and not  group...@domain.com

Any ideas or any settings that have been misconfigured for the users/groups?

Have you checked the Group Settings?  There is an option 

I don't think this is affected by the SendAs setup, so you may have to verify it is set to Group Address.

This issue is that with the same SendAs configuration, the reply-to is populating differently with just the a...@domain.com group; Everywhere else it works fine. Ross and I added the group to the all group and gave it posting permissions. We're hoping that fixes it.

To close the loop on this, we ended up adding the group email address as a member of the a...@domain.com group, and manually setting its posting permissions as allowed (Its setting is only managers can post, and groups cant be managers of other groups)

The reply-to is properly populating now.
