I am trying to reassign users to a new OU structure. I would prefer to run a command that simply moves the users from whatever OU structure they are currently in, to the one I want to move them into. However, I could not locate such a command, so instead, I found the thread that talked about moving members of a group into an OU Structure. Below are the commands I am using in Terminal, but it says
"-bash: 12th Graders: No such file or directory"

gam group <"12th Graders"> update user org "/hpaspartanburg.org/Students/12th Grade"

Resulting error:  -bash: 12th Graders: No such file or directory

Any help is appreciated!

Joe,

Drop the <> around the group email address and correct it as "12th Graders" (with a space) is not valid.

gam group "12th Graders" update user org "/hpaspartanburg.org/Students/12th Grade"

Joe,

If you're trying to all move users from one OU to another, there are two ways to do it:
gam ou "/Path/to/Old/OU" update user org "/Path/to/New/OU"
gam update ou "/Path/to/New/OU' add ou "/Path/to/Old/OU"

Ross,

Thanks for the quick reply!

So I tried the following:

gam group "12th Graders" update user org "/hpaspartanburg.org/Students/12th Grade"

Getting all members of 12th gra...@hpaspart.org (may take some time for large groups)...

...and I get the following error:

ERROR: 404: Resource Not Found: groupKey - groupNotFoundI am guessing this is because I have a space inbetween '12th' and 'Graders'?

Is there any way around this, besides renaming the group with no space?

Thanks in advance

Joe,

You need the group email address, not the group name.
