I am looking for a way to manage two settings with GAM, but do not see them in any documentation.  I wonder if anyone can help:

1)  The "Delivery" field (settings include ("No Email", "Abridged", "Digest", and "All Email").  This is found under the Members/All Members View of group management.  For some of our users, they MUST be set to 'No Email' when added to a group.  Without being able to set this programatically, adding users en masse is not so helpful.

2) Also in Members/All Members, the Posting Permission Field (values included "Default Group Policy", "Override- Allow Posting", "Override - Disallow Posting", "Override - Moderated Posting).  This setting allows the administrator to set users permissions in relationship to the group moderation setting.  This is another setting that we would love to set programatically.

Any advice?  Has anyone found a way to manage these settings with GAM or Google API?

I was looking for the same thing and found the same URL.  I took a look at Google's Directory API and it appears nothing has changed.  They still don't allow you to manage delivery settings:

Been waiting for this for years also.  Seems like an obvious feature to include if you really want to address enterprise needs with this platform.

I agree, the API for granular group membership control is long over due.

Yep - we've been waiting for it too. <insert picture of person with long white beard here>

“Directory API: Group Members” does not allow to override posting permissions and delivery settings per user. This is very much needed functionality as often there is a need for some members to be able to post but not receive or receive but not post.

Please vote for this feature to be added. Currently there is 7 vote counts. Just 7.  Hard to believe as it is a very valuable functionality: https://www.cloudconnect.goog/ideas/5087#comment-36849

Here is what I am trying to resolve:
I have a dynamic “Student” group (members are added and removed by my custom application several times a day. The group is too dynamic to handle manually through Google Web Interface). Student group has all students that should not have permissions to post but need to be able to receive the emails.  I have another group “Employees” that is the member of “Student” group that have posting permissions but not email delivery.  The idea that “Employees” can send email to “Student” group but they don’t receive those emails; Students should not be able to send emails to “Students” group; so, essentially, “Students” group is like an email list.

Google does not allow members of "Employees"  group to post to "Student" group because group membership does not propagate to the user level; members of "Employees" can post as group - and this is not an option. I would have to add all members of "Employees" group to "Student" group and flag them as "Delivery: No Email" and "Post: Allow"; and flag all students as "Delivery: All Email" and "Post: Not Allow".

This would be a really useful feature, now I have to manually update 40+ groups 😳
