inappropriate Google slide deck being shared

Hello, 

We have a student that is sharing a slide deck with inappropriate content. We would like to use GAM to look in the slide to find out exactly what the content is. 

1. we would like to see whom the slide has been shared out to.

2. keep chain of custody intact for disciplinary actions.

3. gain access to the slide to view content. without student knowing.

4. if the student has deleted the file.

We have the url they are sharing with other students but when we (admin team) try to open we are prompted to request permission.

Python 3.13.7 64-bit final
Windows 11 10.0.22631 SP0 Multiprocessor Free AMD64

An admin has no special access to a file, if the file has not been shared to the admin, then the admin can't see it.

You can run gam commands as the student to see who has access to the file and to download the file.

These events don't appear in drive activity.

Hi Ross,

I think I found the issue.  <Apps - Google Workspace - Settings for Drive and Docs - Features and Applications>  Drive SDK is enabled on our Staff OU but disabled everywhere else.

when I enable it on a test OU where we placed our test student in. the command completes successfully. disable that option, and it fails.

Good find. Do we need to Meet about the original question of seeinf who has access to the file and downloading it.

I figured out the commands to add my access to the Sheets file, and was able to gather the information needed. 

Where I am having difficulty is removing my access. 

This is the command I used to add access:
