Change the 'Allow managers to modify shared drive settings' on several hundred shared drives

Hello all,

 

I’m trying to figure out a way to change the ‘Allow managers to modify shared drive settings’ setting for several hundred shared drives and can’t seem to find enough documentation in the API to see which setting this is.  Can anyone assist me in constructing the proper GAM command to perform this task?

Hi Kevin, 

The option of  ‘Allow managers to modify shared drive settings’ is bound to the admin console, this would be done safer, faster and better from the admin console itself, you should be able to turn that on or off by the whole org or you can turn that off/on by specifics OUs if you have shared drives bound by OUs. 

but if you want to manually change each setting over GAM the command should be:

gam user emailOfAdmin update teamdrive ID_Team_Drive asadmin restrictions.adminManagedRestrictions true

Sorry for reviving an old post but I thought it was worthy...

Although the Admin CP does allow you to change these settings. It does not change the settings globally to existing Drives!

This means in Admin CP you must go to drive settings for every Drive to change it.

I am dealing with several thousand TD, so this is a Major PITA (Pain in the you know what)

I spent a ton of time trying to find documentation on this command on your site to no avail.

Can I suggest you actually ADD info about this command to the site itself.

I think there are many people who would find this info useful, as being like I said the Admin CP does not change existing drives, only future created ones.
