[GMAIL REPORT] Assistance Needed with Detailed Email Log Analysis Using GAM

Hello everyone,

I'm embarking on a detailed analysis of email logs and need some guidance to ensure I'm on the right track. My project involves not only identifying specific email interactions but also diving deeper into metrics that reflect engagement and reach. here's a few key points that I'm trying to incorporate:

1. Counting the total number of recipients for each email sent by "john...@domain.com" in the past 30 days.
2. Determining how many of these recipients actually opened the emails.
3. Tracking how many times these emails were forwarded.

Here's a summary of what I'm aiming to achieve:

- Extract and analyze data for email addresses similar to "john...@domain.com", focusing on sent and received emails over the last 30 days.
- For each email sent, calculate:
  - The total number of recipients.
  - The open rate (how many recipients opened the email).
  - The number of times the email was forwarded.

I'm looking for advice on the best tools and commands within GAM that could help me gather this information efficiently. Additionally, if there are any scripts or automation techniques for generating monthly reports on these metrics, that would be incredibly helpful.

I'm also mindful of privacy and security concerns, so any best practices related to handling and analyzing this data would be greatly appreciated.

Two thoughts:

1) I’m assuming you’re asking all this (number opened, forwarded, etc.) about recipients in your own Workspace instance, as that information isn’t available for recipients outside your Workspace instance. If you need this sort of tracking outside your own domain, tools like MailChimp and Constant Contact and similar do some trickery to (imperfectly) track those metrics.

2) Using the feature that allows you to export logs to BugQuery is probably going to be a LOT easier than trying to import se GAM for this. See https://support.google.com/a/answer/9079364?hl=en
