Hi,
I have created an app and I wanted to set the authentication domain to the google apps domain of my company.
However the authentication domain field cannot be edited and the mysterious message of "This may only be edited by apps that have no user properties in their datastore."
is displayed at the application settings section of appengine.googe.com
I added the app ID to our google apps domain as a google app engine project but the situation is unchanged.
I do have another app which has been eventually added to the same domain, but I don't remember how I did it as it was a long time ago and now I just can't figure out how to set it up.
As regards https://cloud.google.com/appengine/articles/auth, this seems to be outdated information as the input fields referred to there are not shown.
Please help me to solve this problem.
Thank you.
regards,
Istvan

Hi,

Regarding the error message you're getting : do you have user properties in your datastore? Because according to the error message, this is exactly the problem your application has.

Cheers

Hi,
Thanks for the response. The answer is no.
Actually another member of your support team has responded in the meantime through a ticket that I had submitted, and his hunch is that the EU Region has a different app setup process than the US and that is causing the problem. I mean that when I set up the app in the US region, everything works as expected and the problem only arises for the EU region.
Once I hear from the support team, I will post the response here for others to see.

Hi,

Thank you for your answer.

Since you're already in the hands of more dedicated 1 on 1 support, I will leave you to it. In any case, it will be greatly appreciated for you to post the answer, as you say, for others to see.

If there is anything else we can do to help, feel free to ask here.

Cheers!

The solution is to use the
https://console.developers.google.com
interface, rather than appengine.google.com

To quote support, "After you select/create your project, go to Compute -> App Engine settings -> Application Settings -> Edit, then choose Google Apps domain from the Google authentication menu."
And it works here.

Once the domain is set, it is displayed also at the
appengine.google.com
page, in a read-only fashion.

Thank you for letting us know!

I guess since the older console is getting deprecated anyway, this won't be an issue for long, but while it still is up, your post will definitely serve to help other users in that bind :).

Cheers!
