App Engine 2nd gen is announced in Google Cloud Next '18.

I have known that Java 8 runtime have characteristics of 2nd gen with App Engine SDK compatibility
and some sources says Java 8 runtime is already gVisor based and uses the vanilla JVM.

It seems not to be anymore 1st gen but this page says Java 8 is 1st gen.

What does it mean?
Is the border line between generations App Engine SDK compatibility?

Are there any answers?

I am also looking forward that Go runtime become less constrained but I wonder it is called as 2nd gen or 1st gen when it come.

Java 8 is supported in App Engine 2nd gen. The documentation will be updated to reflect that.
