Abnormal frontend charges

Today my app s~zonzofox-production is going to be billed for more than 90 frontend instance hours, but there is definitely an issue.
The load is ok, normal traffic as usual. Looking at the dashboard charts we have been using just 1 instance. Since we are going to exceed the billing limit could you please tell me what's going on? This is not the first time that is happening, and it's really disappointing.

It could be this bug. As I re-read my bug report, I notice it may be a bit difficult to parse on first read.

Hi,

I'm facing similar Issue today. My frontend instance hour has short up to 167 Hours in 18 hours of the day. Usually this is under 50 hours. The load on the system has been quite much similar to last week (in fact a little lesser). I see similar increase in DB read operations (5.6 Million reads vs usually < 0.07) and outgoing bandwidth (2.09 GB vs usually < 0.3).

If I add up the cost of all these resouces, it comes to over 10$. The interesting part is that the estimated cost for last 18 hours is showing as $0.05 (which is in the usual value range).

My daily budget is 5$. The application is still accessible.

I'm attacing a snapshot of my dashboard for referance.

Can anybody explain what is going on?

According to the data I'm seeing so far, this issue is cosmetic — although the dashboard showed inconsistent resource usage data, my current observations indicate that this will not affect your application's billing.

Also, I'm seeing more consistent usage data now.  I believe this was just a glitch.  I'm reporting it to the App Engine engineering team for followup.

Earlier today, a number of users observed incorrect usage statistics being displayed by the App Engine dashboard in the Google Cloud Developer Console.  Some resources, especially Frontend Instance Hours, were shown with unrealistically elevated usage.

The dashboard has been returned to normal operation and our engineers are investigating to find and fix the root cause of the issue.  So far, the results of our investigation indicate that the issue was purely cosmetic, with no elevated billing or quota denials to any user application.  If your application encountered quota denials because of this issue, if you later observe elevated resource billing in your invoice for this month, or if you are still observing unrealistic usage in the App Engine dashboard, please notify Google Cloud Platform Support.
