I got a weird error when I tried to deploy. I updated to the latest Python Launcher code, and tried again, and it said I need to rollback.

This was the result:

$ appcfg.py rollback .
10:54 AM Application: kaon-log
10:54 AM Host: appengine.google.com
10:54 AM Rolling back the update.
Error 404: --- begin server output ---

<meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html;charset=utf-8">
<title>404 Not Found</title>
</head>
<body text=#000000 bgcolor=#ffffff>
<h1>Error: Not Found</h1>
<h2>The requested URL <code>/api/appversion/rollback?app_id=kaon-log&amp;force_rollback=0&amp;version=58</code> was not found on this server.</h2>

--- end server output ---

Is there an outage?

And just like that, the problem disappeared, and it’s all working now.

Hey Joshua,

Happy to hear this is working for you now.  There is was no outage reported during the time indicated in your screenshot.  Though it may have been repeatable for a given period of time, it has not, to my know, affected others.  It seems to have been a transient issue.

For future reports of this kind that you suspect may be a platform-related issue and not one with your code, I'd recommend filing a new issue on the Issue Tracker.  That is the forum for such reports.  This group is primarily for architecture, best practices and other subjects of the like, though I do understand the general relevance of an outage.

I you should report an issue in the future, be sure to include the following to help us investigate as effectively as possible:
  • Affected project(s)
  • Time frame during which said projects/applications were affected
  • Error logs such as appcfg.py --noisy, gcloud --verbosity=debug, request logs, sys logs, etc.

I had the same issue during the same time frame. I thought I did something wrong, but it cleared-up later, just like you said. Thanks for posting!
