to Google AJAX APIs
Hi,

I work in a company and we want to use the Google Transliteration API
for Hindi,

Is it possible to use this API locally without connecting to a web
service?

What does it mean it's deprecated?

Will it work for commercial amounts? Is it possible to pay for it?

It is not possible to use the API locally without connecting to a web service because the actual work of transliteration is done on Google's servers.

"Deprecated" means that the service is no longer under active development. I.e., you can expect no new features to be deployed, and bug fixes will be relatively low priority. Per the TOS, the deprecation period will last no longer than 3 years, at which time the service will be discontinued. Note, however, that Google reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to discontinue the service earlier than that - and with no prior notice - should it become unreasonable to maintain it further. NOTE: For this reason alone, I would be very reluctant to deploy any application which relies on the service.

You can use the service in a commercial application as long as the application meets all the other requirements of the TOS. Probably the biggest component of that is that you cannot charge people for use of Google's service.

There is no paid version of the Transliterate API.

Hi,
I've been through a lot of searching on the net to integrate Google Transliteration API, but failed. So I finally made my own project on Hindi Transliteration and it works offline. Its super elegant.

We can scale it up to an intelligent transliterator if you require.
Tell me if you need it.

Hi Jaison

Is your solution has an API to use on an Android app?

I am also looking for the same in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and other languages
