Hi, the native ads sdk in my app was updated to the latest available version at the end of January for both the iOS and Android version of my app. For the first week everything was fine but after about 10 days the iOS version stops detecting clicks whilst impressions remained the same. The Android version is unaffected. It has been like this for 10 days.

Admob.png

I realize that this may be an Admob issue but it also may be an issue with the current version of the SDK.

Some details...
  • The app only uses native ads.
  • It is using the latest version of the native ads build of the SDK.
  • Admob reports the SDK as version iOS 7.69.0
  • Admob shows that it was working fine for around 10 days.
  • There are no issues or policy violations in Admob.
Has there been anybody else reporting a similar issue recently?

Thanks

Hi Munster,

Thank you for bringing this question to our attention. I was able to look over the screenshot that you included and can see what you are talking about. First allow me to say that this forum is for helping people who are trying to implement the SDK into there app for the first time. That being said, it looks like you have the SDK setup properly as you receive ads, but appear to be having an issue with the ads not being served properly to you. We are unable to handle ad serving here or look into why your iOS app stopped getting clickthrus. As this would appear to be a server side issue.

We would suggest that you reach out to our Product Support Team , as they are able to ahndle issues such as Ad serving, and clickthrus.

Hi Aliza,

Thank you for reaching out to us. is there something that we can help you with regarding this possible issue? If so can you please start a new post with a description of the issue and any steps that help us to reproduce it. Once we get this we will be happy to help you.

Thank you for replying. It has been 10 days since posting this and the issue remains unchanged and Product Support Team did not even reply. A few days ago a message appeared on Admob dashboard stating  that some of my apps are not configured for SKADNetworks. It does not state which one but I presume that it includes the app in which Admob does not currently function correctly.

I am aware that you have nothing to do with Admob backend and only concern yourselves with the SDK but I see other members of this forum having similar issues with Unity Admob SDK (in my case it is the native ads build) so it is still worth considering that it is the SDK that is at fault.

Hi Munster,

Thank you for the response back.While we are unable to handle anything that might be dealing with the backend. Or why ads are not being served to you. We can at least look into the SKADnetworks not config issue. For this we would ask if you can share via"Reply to author" button with the following information.
  • A screenshot of the AdMob errors that you are saying that you just got.
  • Can you share a simple sample app for us to look at what may be happening?
And just to confirm, it looks like the ads were working fine, you just updated SDK version and then this happened. Also since you mentioned the issue with the SKADNetwork, this makes sense that Android would be unaffected by this. We would also suggest to just checkout this link. As it talks about the SKADNetwork for iOS. I would look to integrate this into Unity as maybe it can help to solve this for you.

Hi, I have sent a sample project via private message.
Something I noticed when creating the sample project is that my app is initializes admob like this...

MobileAds.Initialize(string appID)

This now depreciated but it is still working for Android at least and perhaps ios also.
The way I need to initialize admob is like this...

MobileAds.Initialize((initStatus) =>
        {
            // SDK initialization is complete
        });

I am not sure if this has anything to do with the issue though.

I forgot to mention which Unity version the sample project was made with. It is Unity 2019.4.18

HI Munster,

Thank you for the response. While looking back over the test and sample that you sent us we see nothing that can be found on our side. As stated the implementation looks fine. It was also working previously. And just suddenly seemed to stop. Everything is pointing to an ad serving issue. Which would also explain why some of your other apps might not be receiving ads. This is why we would suggest contacting our Product Support Team. As they would know why your account is receiving that message.

Thank you for confirming that my implantation is correct. Just for the record, my only other app (android) is not having this issue and the admob ads are working as they should.

Thanks

Hi Munster,

Thank you for your additional context.

As recommended by my colleague, William, it would be best to raise this to our Product Support team since this is more of an ad serving issue. The product specialist there would be able to provide further assistance on this.
