Hi there,

We're serving native ads via AdMob Mediation.

As soon as it was beta released in September, we implemented the new class UNIFIED NATIVE AD.

Straight after the rollout started, we've seen a significant drop in Facebook CTR (and consequently in CPM).

Therefore we reverted to the previous classes combo (NativeContentAd + NativeAppInstallAd)
Currently, we're using com.google.android.gms:play-services-ads:15.0.1, FAN 4.28.2 (SDK) and FAN 4.28.2.0 (ADAPTER).

We've seen com.google.android.gms:play-services-ads:17.1.1 and 5.1.0 FAN SDK / ADAPTER are available.

Therefore, few questions:
a) Is there any other publisher using UnifiedNativeAd and experiencing issues with Facebook Audience Network (FAN)?
b) Do you know if updating to com.google.android.gms:play-services-ads:17.1.1 and FAN 5.1.0 version will solve our problems?
c) Is there any relevant difference between UnifiedNativeAd and NativeContentAd + NativeAppInstallAd

Thanks very much,
Ale

Hi there,

Let me answer you questions inline :

a) Is there any other publisher using UnifiedNativeAd and experiencing issues with Facebook Audience Network (FAN)?
There are currently no known issue with UnifiedNativeAd and FAN integration so I would recommend that you update to the latest version and let us know if you are having any specific issues.

b) Do you know if updating to com.google.android.gms:play-services-ads:17.1.1 and FAN 5.1.0 version will solve our problems?
As mentioned, there are no know issue and it is highly recommended that you do update the latest version.

c) Is there any relevant difference between UnifiedNativeAd and NativeContentAd + NativeAppInstallAd ?
This has now been coupled into a single AdView for publisher convenience and it resolves the separation of logic to have two different AdViews into a single unified one. You can read more about this here.

Thanks very much for your reply, Deepika.
