Waiting for GPS

I have had this issue of waiting for GPS during the last 4 rounds, using at least two versions of the software, the last watch version was 5.4.5 and I am using standalone mode with Samsung Galaxy Watch.. I will get a connection and everything is great then boom waiting for GPS sometimes rebooting the watch will work sometimes not. I just downloaded 5.4.6 tonight and will be golfing in the morning, crossing my fingers.

Also wondering if there is a way to end a round on the watch? Sometimes especially when I get the GPS issues the round still shows even after I have ended on the Phone.

Everything else seem to be working just fine.

I've had similar issues but only if I start the round from watch, if I start on phone no problem.

One way to close app on your watch is go to recent apps, close all. Much easier than rebooting.

Thanks, was able to clear the watch by starting on my phone, then disconnecting.

Today Golf Pad was flawless! I did not have to wait for GPS one time! The club selection works great as well, this product is coming along very nicely. I did not find myself rushing just to be able to update the app, very nice. Since I was not stressing over the app I shaved 10 strokes off my game today.

May 31, 18 holes, watch connected mode. Watch started requesting location from phone. Unable to enter score on watch. 

Watch would default to putt out page when trying to enter score. Would clear if I opened app on phone when it would time out.

It's been 3 Saturdays now that I've played and all the times my Samsung Watch kept saying "Waiting for GPS", the Samsung Note 9 works perfectly though, but with the watch issue I am thinking of canceling my subscription and try another app that works on watch.

I also had this problem when the standalone version first came out but I think I was disconnecting the phone from the watch too quickly, I now open the App on the phone, wait 30 seconds or so before disconnecting and have never once had the problem again.  I'm using 42mm Galaxy watch and Galaxy Note 8 phone.

Played 18 today June 3rd.  1st 9 connected.  Watch kept asking for phone location, "waiting for location from phone "

Switched to Standalone mode for 2nd 9 and watch worked without a glitch.

I forgot to mention that the "waiting for location from phone" appears when when the phone times out. 

When I open the app it returns to normal watch operations.

Did you had the app pinned on the phone when this happened? I believe that it has to be pinned even if it is a bit of an extra thing to remember.

I did have this issue in a while, but with previous versions it helped if on the watch I changed the hole and back to get rid of the waiting for gps and to get the distances
