Galaxy watch 4

I emailed the support group earlier.  But is any one else having problems running the watch app on a galaxy watch 4? Mime keeps freezing the watch

I was hoping for a reply to your post. For myself I'm holding off upgrading my Galaxy watch until Golfpad has standalone ability and there a good consensus on performance and battery life.

I got a reply to thank me for the message. The watch updated and it seems fine on 1st inspection but I've not used it on the course yet.

Interested to see how the G4 works out with Golfpad.

My old Frontier is working really well now but I don't use all functions, start app from phone. Go to watch and change to flight mode. Close app on phone.

I am disappointed in the battery life on my watch.

I had to replace the battery after 3 years and seems there is still an issue with the battery life. My watch won’t last 9 holes.

I had this last few weeks, they've told me to uninstall and then reinstall the app on watch and phone. 

Not had chance to check this to see if it works, but it's very frustrating when you want a reliable yardage checker!!

All good with old Galaxy Watch, except all those still missing basic features and stupid logical issues, like hole HCP info club recommendations etc., possibility to see the score card during the round (expect that short flash after put out...). Unfortunately I'm afraid it remains the same when all the development has been moved to G4 version. It's of course good to develop and follow the market, but also this is real bad, as it is us who has made this development possible by purchasing the app and tags were left behind.

Looks like I have to find another application for the next season, my faith that this will ever be a solution for me has totally gone. I've been promised by support to get those features almost three years a go. Never happened. So what makes me believe it happens with G4, before G5 or something else will be released?

I would like to echo Jari's comments about adding some of the features we've been asking for and encourage everyone to reply or start new messages about the same. As paying, loyal customers we've patiently waited for these things and I've not seen a single new feature other than compatibility for new watches or phones. When I first started using the app with my galaxy watch I was told to put the watch in airplane mode for the yardages to work accurately.

That solved one problem but now that our phones are not connected to the watch, you lose the ability to check your score or fix mistakes until after the round has completed and you sync the phone back up. How hard can it be to add a screen that shows your current score. How many times do you enter the wrong number of putts and which you could go back and fix it quickly without having to pull out your phone? Wouldn't it be nice to see the map view on your watch so you can quickly see how far a bunker or hazard lies? I know these sound like minor annoyances but these are features available in other apps but I've stuck by Golfpad because I was under the impression that these things were being developed.

Unless enough of us complain about this they won't bother to invest the time and effort to address our desires. Like Jari, I think I'll also have to shop around for another watch app that will give me what I want (suggestions on good alternatives are welcome). @Golfpad, can you give us some concrete information on which features are in development and when they will be released?

Good points all. 

Seems like it should at least have all features used to have on Samsung active. Yardages on s4 watch don't show unless I scroll to next hole and back.

Rony, Harold and everyone else - thank you for your candid feedback. Porting the functionality from Tizen (Galaxy Watch3 and earlier) to Wear OS (Galaxy Watch4 and other brands) is the top priority for our team. Since it's a completely different platform with a different programming language and different set of tools, this requires substantial amount of work and unfortunately is taking longer than we hoped. We appreciate your patience and understanding. We are now starting internal testing of the new Wear OS app that includes standalone mode, club entry and other features. Assuming all goes well, we should have it ready for beta in a few weeks and general release following that. I will post an update here as soon as beta is available.

Looks like the app is broken.

Since upgrading to version 15.93.5_events beta, It doesn't recognize my premium status and can't locate my local courses. I had to use another app today. 

I haven't upgraded to the Galaxy 4 yet and am still using the original Tizen Galax watch. Up until this software update it's been rock solid.

Please put me amung the others wanting to have a current score or scorecard screen. The other app has this feature and I really miss it.

Everyone, thank you for reporting the problem with the latest beta release. It looks like a version with bad configuration went live with the last update. Sorry about this.
