the problem is the following :

the cadence in Garmin file and in Garmin Edge 1030+ device are the double of the GC cadence.

To help you find attached screens of the problem :

1 – screen copy in the GC summary with the average and maximum cadence

2 – screen copy of the cadence graph

3 – screen copy in the Garmin connect tool with the cadence.

In  Garmin the cadence is the double of the GC cadence

And finally the export Garmin file in original mode of this training

Could you help me ? I thikg it is probably an error in GC

Sure, but before jumping to that conclusion you should check:
1j you have the latest GC version
2) you don’t have data processors configured to run on import which can provoke this effect, Fix Running Cadence is the likely suspect here

1 ) a screen copy of the GC version
2 ) how is possible to change the configuration of data processors ? I import directly from Garmin and in Garmin it is configured in cycling

In Tools>Options>Data Fields>Processing
There is a list of data processors that can run automatically on import. Check that Fix Running is not set.

With a running workout, Garmin displays e.g. 180spm and GC displays it as 90spm. I always assumed that it was just a different interpretation of what cadence means and since it is always exactly half, it’s easy to go between the two values.

I just checked a run activity and can see that the raw Garmin data records the lower number (e.g. 90, not 180spm), so I guess Garmin is doubling the display value, rather than GC halving it.

When I import Michel’s ride workout, GC displays the same cadence as the raw data e.g. 66rpm.

The problem for me is when I display with GC I read 33 rpm but the reality is 66 rpm and I dont understand the reason.

in Tools>Options>Data Fields>Processing see copy screen hereafter

You have the "Fix Running Cadence" data processor enabled to run on import, and it halves cadence values as explained in its description, change it to manual and new imports will be ok.

Perhaps this can help to understand why you are having such a hard time to understand the reason: https://groups.google.com/g/golden-cheetah-users/c/O3V5U1qgAVU/m/qIG9a-L_CgAJ

Hello Joss,

Did you still have this problem with running cadence workouts? I have the same issue. My garmin raw data (fit file) contains 90spm which is displayed as 180spm in Garmin connect app. But CG displays the raw data from the same fit file as 90spm. And I cannot find how to let CG display it double as 180spm.
