Slightly off topic.
But is there any way to enhance google groups so that it will support Markdown?
Or at least provides a simple way to post formatted code without the
indentation being destroyed?

People often want post code snippets on this group.
And I have yet to find an easy way to do this.

Not that I know of. Google groups is mailing list, any thing in and out would be by/for email clients, which is not specific to Google groups.

My tips is not using HTML for body (maybe the option name is something like "disable Rich Text format"), use plain text, and it will formatted as is.

Most that I have seen use play.golang.org and/or copy-paste the formatted code in email content.

GGroups are n web interface to *mailing lists*. Most pros is subscribed
via mail, some (as me) using only MTAs that pass through only plain text.

Quick check over my mailboxs tells me that some 10% OP originate in
the web interface; then yet less followups are posted via web.

Put your code on the playground, press [SHARE] then copy url
and paste in your message. This is the right way to share Go code.

Hope this helps,
