Hi list moderators:

Is the posting articles to the Go Nuts list that were clearly written by AI encouraged or frowned upon?

I ask because I notice there have been repeated articles posted to the list lately. The ones I have viewed were clearly written by AI and provided no unique insight that we cannot easily get by just asking AI about the topic when we need to understand it.

IMO these articles generate more noise than signal, but I recognize the list moderators might feel differently hence why I ask. It would be nice to know what the policy is.

I agree that that is not useful information.

In general it's not too useful to start a thread with "here is an
article I wrote." It's appropriate as a reply to a new thread about
the topic. I suppose an article would be fine if it's a lead in to a
proposal for some sort of change to the language or standard library,
but not just as an explanation or discussion of where Go is today.
More generally, if you have something to say (that wasn't written by
an LLM), post it directly, don't link to an article.

That's my view, anyhow. The list has done fairly well to date without
a formal set of rules. I hope we can continue that.

The IT industry has been doing fairly well to like Jan 2025.
I lost hope we can continue since. I still have a sliver of hope there will be enough people
knowing how to architecture and write programs from the scratch past the bubble bursts.
