Announcements:
· Write-ups due Saturday 6/14/14 11:59pm

· Update A Team Prayer Document:
o Have a mind towards summer
· Signboard duty: 10th week, we need to pick up our sign boards!
Survivors:
· We are currently missing sign-up sheets – Carissa has them!
· Williamson’s house is confirmed! Woohoo praise God! : )
Welcome Week Events:
Fall Retreat:
· Trying to find a new hotel. Every year they have raised the prices and they are giving us lesser quality things.
· Purpose: To fellowship and catch up with everyone, so that when welcome week starts, we can be focused on reaching out to new people. Prepare our hearts for the theme of the year and prepare for the year ahead.
o Give people opportunities to serve.
Tour of Westwood:
· Write-ups suggested more groups, so that it will be faster flow.
· But if there are larger groups, you can talk to more people.
o The system of managing many groups are complicated, because some groups were left out. Think about the managers who will want to give presentations of their stores as well and what is most comfortable for them. Have to make sure that the groups don’t intersect.
o It is difficult to get everyone’s attention when it is a very large group, crossing streets was hard because some people were left behind.
· Plans to contact businesses:
o find a good balance between food places and
o Ask chains: start early, because it is a long process.
o Ask for discounted price as opposed to for free samples.
o Show them the flyaway stop!
Wednesday Event:
· Focus on non-believers
· 2 Main Ideas:
o 1) Box-Feast
o 2) Hollywood Hike/Something outdoorsy
o 3) Capture the flag
· use glow sticks for Box-Feast if playing at night!
· Ask AACF and other fellowships about their event dates, so that we can decide which day to put our event: Wednesday or Friday
Ice Cream Social:
· We will meet soon.
· We should be able to use the freezer again!
Misc.
· Note from maranatha: we are the best at cleaning! Woohoo!
What should we call Friday Night:
· “Large Group”; “GOC”; “Bible Study”; “GOC Large Group”
· Who is Grace On Campus?
· The Church is the people, a gathering of sinners
· When we say “we are going to GOC” what does GOC imply?
o GOC then is this specific event on Friday night. But, Friday night is just one aspect of the things that GOC does.
o This distinction is necessary, because our language is important: going to the church, the building, is different from the church – the body of God.

It is more clear to call it: “GOC large group”
or “Large Group Bible Study”
