The Kunbi sari, a traditional handloom product, holds cultural significance in Goa. This study explores the current state of the craft, including the materials used, weaving process, and pricing. It is observed that contemporary Kunbi sarees have deviated from the traditional design, lacking the characteristic dobby border. Despite recent efforts to revive the craft, challenges persist. This paper emphasizes the need to explore new color combinations and incorporate design enhancements to attract consumers. Effective marketing strategies, both domestically and internationally, are also crucial for sustaining the craft's growth. Moreover, educating weavers about government schemes and policies is essential to provide the necessary support for their craft. The findings of this study highlight the importance of ongoing efforts to revitalize the Kunbi sari weaving craft and ensure its preservation for future generations.
Keywords: Kunbi sari, handloom, weaving process, design enhancement, cultural heritage, weaving traditions.
