Leopoldo da Rocha's "A Casa Grande"

Aurobindo Couto, a teacher of the Portuguese language in Goa, noted that Dr Rocha's roots lie in Quitla Aldona, closel to his own area. He also wrote: "I would like to have his novel A Casa Grande. Please let me know how to get this book or even a link to the book. It's a novel set in Goa but published in Portuguese."

Hi William,

Having read A Casa Grande, I can safely say that Casa Grande has nothing to do with Inquisition. I have not read Voddlem Ghor. So Alan Machados book and Casa Grande are not be compared. Casa Grande deals with Rocha's youth, his family members, his life in the Seminary, his life in Aldona and Bicholim where his Father lived. In a nutshell it is a memoir. 

Any idea where I can find Voddlem Ghor?

Frederico, I have read all about Pai. Thanks for pointing out to me where I can get Vhoddlem Ghor, I will get it now. but aside from that, what has Casa Grande got to do with Inquisition?
