Leopoldo Rocha

[Frederick Noronha]

We recently learnt of the death of Dr Leopoldo Rocha, a scholar who was deeply interested in Goan issues and a veteran who worked many decades on Goa. Rocha was 93, and a long-time member of GRN. He was formerly a professor at Rachol, a priest, and actively committed to writing and explaining Goa.

Rocha was one of the old timers who studied Goa amidst trying circumstances and limited options or facilities. With his passing, we lose another titan from another era. FN
