This book sounds so interesting. 

Ms Chatterjee describes herself as an anthropologist/sociologist/ethnomusicologist. 

It's not available to buy from the US.

Is there a reason she chose choirs in Shillong and Goa to research.I didn't realize there was a connection.

I do know from Jesuits in the North East that neighboring  Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya have some of the most talented choirs in the world singing in powerful harmony with very little musical training.
