DKA invites applications for Book of the Year Award 2021.
Dalgado Konknni Akademi announces the competition for Book of the Award 2021. The rules and regulations for the same are as under : The book should be written in Roman Konkani and should be of least 150 pages. No age bar for writers and the book should be published during the period 01 Jan. 2020 to 31 Dec. 2021. Books containing matter criticizing any religion, nation, racism etc. will not be considered for the Award. Besides the literature, the involvement of the writer in the Konkani movement/activities will also carry the weightage while selecting the book by the panel of judges appointed by DKA. The award will be in the form of flower bouquet, memento, citation, shawl and a cheque of Rs. 20,000/-. DKA urges the Goan writers to apply with 3 copies of books in person or through post to Dalgado Konknni Akademi, Old Education Dept. Bldg., 2nd Floor, Near Pharmacy College, 18 June Road, Panaji, Goa on or before 07 November, 2022. Extraordinary General Body meeting of Dalgado Konknni Akademi
An Extraordinary General Body Meeting has been called by Dalgado Konknni Akademi on 23rd October, 2022.
The meeting has been called to adopt the Amendments to the Constitution. The Amendments were earlier discussed at the Annual General Body meeting held on 21st August, 2022, and were unanimously passed by the members present.
The meeting will be held on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. at Institute Menezes Braganza Conference Hall in Panjim. The members of Dalgado Konknni Akademi are requested to be present for the meeting.

DKA invites literature for different literary competitions
Dalgado Konknni Akademi, a pioneer institution which works for the upliftment of Roman Konknni has invited the writers to participate in their Romi Konknni Literature Competition 2022. The competition has been named after Late FR. CONCEICAO D’SILVA SAHITYIK SPORDHA 2022 after his death in 2021. Late Fr. Conceicao was the Vice President of DKA until his sudden death.
The writers have the option of choosing from various categories, to compete with other writers. They are Poetry, Short story, Essays, One-act Plays and Konkani songs (kantar). Kantar has been introduced last year in order to inculcate writing lyrics of the Konkani songs. There are two parts for writing song lyrics. A song has to be composed on Konknni language and the other on any other topics. As the Christmas season is fast approaching, there is a competition to pen new Carols in Konkani. There is no restriction for any writer to participate in any or all the competition he wishes.
The last day to submit the write-ups in word doc. file is 19th November, 2022 during office hours at dkak...@gmail.com. No hard copy will be accepted. The entries can also be submitted on WhatsApp number 9822587498 (Vincy Quadros). A panel of judges for different categories will judge the competition.
