Shabdarth, a game that enhances the Konkani WordNet

Check this out pls: a game has been developed called Shabdarth for Konkani lovers. The link for the game is http://sbsi.unigoa.ac.in/shabdarth Here the players will be given different words and they have to provide the meaning, synonyms, grammatical category and examples for those words. This serves as a part of an initiative taken by Goa University to enhance the  Konkani WordNet (http://konkaniwordnet.unigoa.ac.in) by increasing its vocabulary. Konkani WordNet provides information about a word from different perspectives also giving the relationships between words. This will help in the compilation of all the Konkani words and prevent the authentic Konkani words that are not prevalent in the day to day conversations from becoming extinct. Kindly play this game and extend your support towards this initiative.

Thanks Pamela D' Mello for bringing this sad news to our attention.

Just a couple of months back i had gifted my wife a copy of his excellent recipe book " Flavorwalla" which I would say is a must have..

He traced his roots to Anjuna Village.

May his soul rest in peace..

Floyd’s mom Beryl Cardoz hails from Anjuna. I don’t know about his father’s village.

Floyd Cardoz grew up in Virendra Colony Bandra, which is opp St Andrew’s Church (Junction of BJ Road and Hill Road). I know, as I too am from Virendra Colony.

Hi Edwin, 

Thanks for the info! I have read your delightful book. I too have a Bandra connection!, I was born in Sushma Nursing home which you will know , is very  close to St Andrews Church.

My maternal grandparents lived on Kadeshwari Mandir Rd formerly cemetery road, and i spent delightful months every year there.

In fact my batchmates resident of Bombay, at TISS where I did my Masters used to say I know Bombay better then them!

Another coincidence is that , Anjuna is the village my Mother - in - law hails from! 

It's a small world..

Glad to know that you read my Book Beyond Bandra. How did you come to hear of it?  
BTW Sushma Nursing Home, is just opposite Virendra Colony on the Hill Road side. Good to know of your Bandra connection.
