I've been trying to get gocd set up for a project, and while I was able to easily get the pipeline working in the "try out" version, once I removed that and installed the proper server and agent, I've been unable to connect to my private github repository.  The Test Connection button just stalls. Ignoring that stall to see what would happen leads to a Material update hung error when the pipeline attempts to run.  Considering it worked with the try out version, I imagine I've missed something in setup, but haven't the foggiest what it could be. Does anybody have advice for me in this situation?

Hello Krzysztof,

It sounds like a problem with the SSH key set up, especially since it is a private repo.

Could it be that the GoCD server is currently running as a user who is not you, and the SSH keys are not set up for that user? When you tried the “try out” version, it likely ran as your user, and your .ssh directory was set up right.

Cheers,

Thank you very much, Aravind.  That was exactly it. The services were starting with the Local System account instead of the user account. With that fixed, my pipeline executes properly.

Thank you.
