Manual approval step - message ambiguous

For manual approval step if any user logs in is it possible to know which user it is pending with? Currently its not clear from the message ? Is there way to customize the message what is shown to user?

Are you able to clarify which "message" you are referring to wanting to "customize"?

Please see attached image. 

It says "Awaiting approval. Waiting for users with operate permission to schedule 'Deploy' stage"

Instead, It would be expected to show "Waiting for XYZ user to approve"

We are able to restrict permission to specific user to act on it which disables the approval button for users with no permission. But the message is not telling with whom it is pending.

Ahh ok - in that case, no, there is not a way to have that message/tooltip show all the users who have the permissions to operate a given pipeline or to customise it. That list would have to be calculated/inferred from the pipeline group permissions granted to users and roles, and the users who have the relevant roles associated.
