Hi All,

We have recently upgraded to 20.4.0

After upgrade, we updated the user credentials in material section instead of netrc. However, we could observe the material cloning is getting failed with the git url (not passing the username) as shown below.

sample below :-
https://:*****@<git-url>.git
however i believe the expected url should be
https://<user>:*****@<git-url>.git

Can anyone help us with this issue

Thanks,
Bala

Hi All,

even i am also facing similar issue after upgrading to 20.4 is it a bug or something or any configuration that needs to be taken care during the upgrade.

After upgrade it is still looking for netrc file for credentials even though we declared creds in pipeline materials itself.

@Bala  hope you are also facing same issue i believe?

Thanks!
Prabha.

Yep. Is it a bug in this version? Can someone confirm?

Hello,

GoCD doesn’t do anything more than use the git (external) command. Maybe you can see the git config in the checkout folder and see what it looks like? Since it does accept username/password now for git materials, it does try to use that while cloning, but the git config should give you more information anyway.

On the GoCD server side, it’ll be in the server directory, under “pipelines/flyweight”. Something like /var/lib/go-server/pipelines/flyweight on Linux.

Cheers,
Aravind

PS: If you have more information or a verified set of steps to reproduce it, please open an issue.
