Hello Team,

we need to install GoCD Analytics Plugin, while installing gocd-analytics-plugin-3.1.0-542.jar we're getting the below error.

Plugin with ID ([com.thoughtworks.gocd.analytics]) is not valid: Incompatible with GoCD version '20.5.0'. Compatible version is: 20.9.0.

Which version of Analytics Plugin should we use for GoCD 20.5.0?

Thanks.

Hiya

As Github notes, that's an experimental version of the plugin, so aside from GoCD compatibility, probably not so wise to use for production.

The "released" version at https://github.com/gocd/gocd-analytics-plugin/releases/tag/v3.0.0-5 should be compatible with GoCD 20.5.0.

But I would advise prioritising upgrading, both for plugin compatibility reasons, as well as security reasons, some of which are likely to affect most folks' environment and without very satisfactory mitigations.

Hi Chad,

thanks for the swift response, we are soon planning to upgrade our systems but before that, we want to understand the usage and any scope for cleanup.

Hi Chad,

I was able to install the plugin, but it requires additional assets files, our current setup is containerized and running on eks, but due to the limitations of configmap in Kubernetes of 1MB I'm unable to mount it to desired location i.e. /go-working-dir/analytics-assets/, I've another option to put those assets under /godata (mounted storage) and then symlink, but I learned the entrypoint.sh only looking for specific directories to symlink to the working directory "server_data_dirs=(artifacts config db logs plugins addons)". so it seems we can't add any custom directories.

do you know any solution to this problem, is there any possible workaround?

Could you extend that container and add the assets to it? You could then enhance the entry point shell script as required.
