Hi,

Firstly, thank you very much for writing this software.  Secondly, I have a three questions regarding some large mailboxes I need to migrate from an existing Google Apps account to another (one mailbox is > 9GB), so it will take some time to backup and restore (some might take days).

  1. I plan to have the mailbox owner do an initial full sync backup (from a Linux server in a screen session).  For the migration to go smoothly and quickly (to avoid mail bounces), I was hoping I could then do a final quick sync backup over the existing full backup.  Is that okay to do?
  2. Immediately following the final quick sync backup, I would like to do a quick restore, so that the restore would complete relatively fast and the user could start working with minimal loss of access to their mailbox and have their recent e-mail available to them.  What I'm hoping for is that once the quick restore has completed, I would be able to do full restore over the existing quick restore.  Is that possible without producing duplicate e-mails?  Is there a custom restore available where I can specify everything prior to the period restored by the quick restore?
  3. Is there a resume option for restore operations?  I had received an IMAP abort error that eventually let to a "socket error: Broken pipe" and and exception traceback after running for almost 20 hours and had 4 hours left.  If not, how should I proceed with a restore after this occurs?

Thanks in advance,

David

I would also be interested to know how to do a custom restore for specific dates, if it is possible. I know that there is a custom sync "Since....Before....." but I can't run it for restore. I have tried "gmvault-shell>gmvault restore --type custom --imap-req "Since 1-Jan-2011 Before 1-Jan-2012" blab...@blabla.com"
