Hi! We're coming off two great summers of camp where my daughter goes to school. However, this year their camp doesn't have lunch bunch options, which often make a pretty big help for my work schedule. Anyone have any great camps you like in the area that are longer than just 2-3 hours per day? That might work for us some weeks, but probably won't cut it for the whole summer. Our daughter is 5 years old.

Thanks!
Kelly

I've never used them, but people seem to like the YMCA and Briar Bush camps. There are also weekly camps through Abington Township, held at the community centers.

Good luck!

We are sending our daughter (5 years old-in kindergarten this year) to anglewood in elkins park. She went there last year and loved it. It's very sports oriented, but I loved that the kids were out running around all day, had swim 2-3 times per day and that it is so close.

We're sending our 5 year-old to Anglewoood, too! We haven't done it yet, but have heard rave reviews. Deb, we'll see you there :)

Thanks! I will look into Anglewood and the Abington ones. We love Briar Bush camp and will do some of that, but that seems to be mornings OR afternoons of the same thing, rather than just an extended day. Anglewood could be interesting to get our girl to branch out a little more. She has interest in sports, but hasn't done much of that yet and it would be good to try some new things.

Hi Kelly,

I work for the Girl Scouts, and we have a  a beautiful day (and resident!) camp for girls in Miquon, PA, which is a 20 minute drive from Glenside. Campers can start when they're 5 years-old or entering Kindergarten. It's a full-day program, plus early/late care. The camp is located on 100 acres right on the Philadelphia/Montgomery County border and we have an outdoor pool, plus a brand-new activity center with a climbing wall - plus other fun outdoor activities. Girls also participate in Girl Scout activities including earning patches and learning about being a good friend. However, you do not have to be a Girl Scout to attend!

I'm attaching a flyer. There's an Open House on April 8, but you can also email ca...@gsep.org if you'd like more info.

Hello neighbors! I'm organizing a group rate for vent cleaning services with Daniel. If you have allergies, notice extra dust, or haven’t cleaned your vents in over a year, it’s probably time. He quoted $400, but with 3–4 houses it’s $159 for a single AC unit home. And if you book along with your neighbor or a friend, your price will be $149.  Currently, two households are already on board, so we just need two more to qualify for the discounted rate. If interested, PM me your contact number, house address, and your availability so I can add you to the list. They also do chimney cleaning if anyone needs it.

There are still slots available. If you want to join, please send me your availability, home address, and phone number via email, and I will add you.
