Regarding the itinerary/schedule of the convication of 2013-2016 batch

We would like to know the itinerary/schedule and the other details of the convocation. Some of us are now not based in Goa and will need to make travel arrangements to the state.

The Convocation rehearsal and Convocation ceremony are scheduled for 25^th. March 2016 and 26^th. March 2016.

The concerned students would receive a formal intimation in due course.

26^th March will be observed as “Holy Saturday” by Catholics. (25^th March is “Good Friday”.—A Holiday too)  Having a happy occasion like the convocation on this date may not be suiting to the religious observances observed by some of us during that time.

 

Please do consider rescheduling the same. If I may suggest, we can have it in the week following 27^th March, Easter Sunday.

Dear Inacio,

The convocation dates have been decided by the concerned authorities well in advance. I am not sure if it is now possible to reschedule the dates. I will however convey your sentiments to the concerned authorities.

Hi Professor. 

Kindly consider rescheduling the convocation as 25th March is Good Friday a day of mourning for catholics and usually the church services go in for more than 3hours.

It may not be possible for some of us to attend the ceremony during good Friday nd holy Saturday.

This is with reference to the email from some of the students with a request to reschedule the dates of the convocation rehearsal and ceremony. I checked with the concerned authorities and have been advised that there is no leeway now to change the above dates which have been finalized well in advance. The related activities have been planned accordingly (execution of some of the activities has already started). I have also been advised that the Institute shall make arrangements to ensure that the students are relieved as soon as possible on the convocation rehearsal date.

I write this email with deep respect to the sentiments expressed by the said students with a request to kindly bear with us.
