Hi Kevin,
If you could provide a CAN matrix, I could do an initial version of the module. Would have to be fine-tuned and debugged with the live system before driving on the streets.
Cheers,
Michael

80-90% could be done.. if it also contains timing information and
sufficiently explains the bits and byte order. We could give it a
try. Do you have some basic programming skills or know how to
compile/upload Arduino programs?

Hi Michael
Thanks for getting back to me - If I got the "Can matrix" can the work be done remotely over the internet ?

I am getting a water cooled 34KW PMAC motor with a maching water cooled controller from a chinese OEM - the weight is very low and so is the price. Anyway - I had a wee email from Jack Rickard and he seems to think it would work but I would need to "add a module to it in C++ to send the appropriate CAN commands" - I am good with computers and networking but I have never done any sort of coding. would anyone be able to offer any guidance, or help? How much work do you think it would be? hours wise?
Who could do it?

Hi Sez Su,
Well, the most important thing you'll need is the specs/documentation for the controller. I assume it's controlled via CAN bus. Then you'll need the documentation for the sent and received CAN messages. This can be a pdf document or an excel-sheet with a so called CAN-matrix which lists all the messages, adresses and meaning of each byte/bit. Without that it'll be almost impossible to find out how to get things working. Even with an already running set-up it'd be very hard to reverse engineer all essential commands and status fields.
I'm glad to support you but without docs, it'll be impossible.
Cheers,
Michael

Hope you got the documents I sent day before? Have you had the chance to read it. Let us know we are eagerly waiting and depending on your reply with our project.
Thanks
