So glad I showed up to see Flat catch fire and come back from a 2-8 deficit, still trailing 5-11 when I arrived. The D was hot, the O was on their toes, and a little Eebu Lay Lay went a long way way!
A good number of us witnesses a long horizon fireball, just over the far trees. I snapped a picture of the location and marked it up with a line then opened up my compass and grabbed a screen shot so I had plenty of info so I could eventually log a report with the American Meteor Society. A fireball is basically a meteor that enters the atmosphere rather than skipping off of it.
My report (still pendi9ng AMS review): https://amsmeteors.org/members/imo_view/report/379759
The event I believe it will eventually be linked to (once it is reviewed): https://fireball.amsmeteors.org/members/imo_view/event/2025/4231
Jeff
Hope to be playing again next Thursday!
