Dear all,

I would be grateful if you would bring this notice to the attention of potential postgraduate research students.

With colleagues in the University of Limerick, I am advertising two funded graduate positions that are open for applications as part of the University’s new Graduate Bursaries 2030 scheme. They come with a stipend of €16,000, a fee-waiver for one year, and training in career development and policy impact. Students will be enrolled on a Masters by Research programme and they will be supported in developing a viable PhD proposal and in seeking further funding.

Project 1: Improving the penetration of renewable energy using batteries

This project will focus on policies that influence the integration of stationary batteries into the grid. It is part of a wider project funded by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland under its RD&D programme. Details here (https://www.ul.ie/engage/node/6841).

Project 2: Local government and nature-based solutions

This project focuses on the role of local government in the development of nature-based solutions and urban green spaces. It is part of Go Green Routes, a H2020 project. Details here (https://www.ul.ie/engage/node/6931).

These are one-year bursaries. We are open to considering candidates from a wide range of disciplinary and professional backgrounds. Ideally, students would be willing to start this term (Autumn 2021).

Prospective applicants should contact me (conor....@ul.ie). You can also contact my colleagues on the projects: Prof. Stephen Kinsella (stephen....@ul.ie), Dr. Tadhg Kennedy on Project 1 (tadhg....@ul.ie), or Dr. Elaine Gallagher on Project 2 (elaine.g...@ul.ie).

Best wishes,

Conor Little
