SciDipTalks: SciTechDiploHub Webinar series to bring science diplomacy to the public debate in the COVID-19 crisis

#SciDipTalks: Science Diplomacy in a Changing World

Maria,

We live in unprecedented times. The COVID-19 crisis is hitting our societies, economies, and ways of life of a scope and scale never seen before. Similarly, we find ourselves in a moment in time when bridging scientific knowledge and diplomatic practice through science diplomacy is more important than ever.

With millions of people scaling up their efforts to help mitigate the virus by confining themselves at home, we have the responsibility to bring together scientists, international relations practitioners and global health experts to discuss science diplomacy and pandemics. It is now time to open up and bring in-depth analysis and expertise to the public debate.

To this aim, SciTech DiploHub has partnered with other organizations to put forward 5 online sessions with leading world experts that will explore the role of international cooperation in the current crisis: the European response to COVID-19; the impact of cities, and particularly of Barcelona, in global mitigation efforts, the responses to pandemics in Iberoamerica and the threats and opportunities of new technologies. Look below for more information!
