Dear GEP-ed Community:

This short piece, co-authored with Praneeta Mudiliar, is an attempt to situate climate justice within the context of the ongoing debates on the U.S.-led effort to foster a fresh round of international commitments. We argue for the need to “resist” the “cynical politics of climate negotiations,” so that climate justice does not become a game of ping-pong between elites in both global North and South, including market elites.
