Job Title: Lab Manager
Department: Institute for Energy Efficiency, UC Santa Barbara
Summary of Job Details: Serves as the Environment and Energy Transitions (ENVENT) Lab Manager, providing general assistance to the Principal Investigators (PIs) including, general administrative assistance, budget management, assists in the preparation of grant proposals and grant reports, and maintains and updates the lab website. Laboratory duties include the management of data collection and analysis, the development and management of web-based questionnaires and background research in support of policy report and public-facing writing. Responsible for the set up, operation and maintenance of all equipment and services used in research.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent education and/or experience.
• 1-3 years of administrative experience.
• Knowledge of information technologies including databases, project management systems.
• Knowledge of climate and energy policy.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple time sensitive activities with calmness, deliberation and resilience.
• Strong administrative, organizational, and procedural practices including self- organization, time management, financial management and attention to detail.
• Ability to exercise independent leadership, prioritize multiple tasks, and work collaboratively with a variety of university and external groups.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing, to include writing and preparing memorandums, letters, and other official correspondence.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with colleagues in order to achieve goals.
• Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure, adjust to frequently changing work assignments, and remain flexible and positive in the face of changing needs.

Pay Rate/Range: $24.77 - $28.13/hr.
Working Days/Hours: M-F, 8am-5pm PT
