Hi everyone:

While in Nashville, I was talking to some of you and some of my friends in the Active Learning Community about putting together a co-sponsored panel for ISA in Montreal in 2023.

I've been having my students do a class project in my environmental politics classes about how to improve sustainability on campus, most recently in conjunction with the SDGs. I was wondering if others have also done projects with their classes (not clubs or campus organizations/offices) that have enabled students to have real-life experiences in how to bring about change -- and all of the challenges that entails, especially dealing with a lack of political will on the part of administrators, city officials, etc. For example, do your students do consulting work for an outside organization as part of their class? Does your class meet with local officials to present project proposals? How do you challenge your students to implement the SDGs or green your campus?

Would anyone be interested in having either a panel or a roundtable on our experiences with this type of active learning?

If you are interested, please send me an email describing what you are doing and whether you would prefer a panel or a roundtable discussion. I'm hoping to use this as an opportunity to FINALLY write up my project, regardless of the format in Montreal.

Thanks,

Pam
