Disaster Risk Reduction in an Unstable World

While some disasters are geophysical—such as earthquakes and tsunamis—and others are chemical or nuclear accidents caused by human error, there are many that are climate related, such as floods, storms, droughts, and heatwaves.

With temperatures rising, many of these events have become more intense and frequent, impacting communities and countries differently. But despite predicted temperature increases, we can still reduce the damage caused and lives lost to these disasters with proactive steps. Our latest Still Only One Earth policy brief shares how.
