There are 13 fully funded PhD positions available, open to students from all nationalities. One of them (ESR8)
will be hosted with CEDLA Latin America Research Centre/University of Amsterdam. It is a comparative study on mining/gas-extractivism, related water/territorial problems, and counter movements. It concentrates on
the cases of Xela/Guatemala and Groningen/Netherlands.

of flooding and drainage problems”
The selected candidates will join an extensive transdisciplinary network with 29 organizations involved. The NEWAVE network has the ambition to push forward a transformative
actionable agenda.
