Dear Colleagues,
The Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) offers a variety of professional learning opportunities including webinars and workshops. We invite you to browse the listing of programs scheduled this summer and hope to see you at one or more of these upcoming online events.
These programs provide in-depth learning experiences focused on advancing sustainability-related competencies and relationship building.
July 22 @ 2:00 - 5:00 p.m. EDT
The converging crises of our time also include a mental health crisis. This workshop will explore the intersection of mental wellness and community wellness by exploring the complexities of moving through the climate emergency and other crises while maintaining mental health. Participants will gain language to describe and process the complex emotions associated with change work, as well as activities and discussion ideas they can take back and enact at their campuses. The goal of this workshop is to support the wellbeing of those that attend and help them support their campus on a journey of wellbeing. More information and register.

Tired of the same old messages around recycling, light bulbs, and composting? Attend this workshop to learn about a deeper and more lasting message of sustainability. See how Indigenous language, culture, and history can be integrated into campus and community life and provide a new lens for sustainability work. This workshop is intended for faculty, administrators, staff and students of all disciplines and at all educational levels, as well as community leaders and change agents who wish to integrate sustainability and an Indigenous way of thinking into their work. This workshop introduces methods of user experience research and design, teaching you how to apply these methods to sustainability research, coordination & planning, and campus engagement. User experience research can help you learn about your audience, so you can streamline your project to impact behavior, knowledge, and/or campus culture. Sustainability Across the Curriculum – Best Practices

Join three members schools of the AASHE Centers for Sustainability Across the Curriculum network in an experiential virtual workshop where participants will experience hands-on activities and walk away with lesson plans that can be used with diverse groups of students, faculty or staff at their institutions to educate for and about sustainability. Working with Vulnerable Communities on Climate Action through Nonformal Higher Education and Peacebuilding

Join Dr. Arun Gandhi (grandson of Mahatma Gandhi) and presenters from RCE Salisbury to explore how nonformal higher education can assist vulnerable populations in sustainability efforts globally. Nonformal higher education takes many forms and the webinar will provide an overview of pedagogical tools that instructors incorporate in the classroom and are relevant and useful for vulnerable migrant populations, who have a lower capacity to adapt to climate change, and display how this education practice can serve as a tool of sustainability and revitalization for motivation, socialization, cross-cultural exchange.
