Happy Weekend Geography Enthusiasts! Important Message/Information below.

First! MORE details around our meeting are on their way! Look for a detailed program and other announcements in the next 2-weeks.

Second! I have set up and just started to populate a Geography Articulation Moodle Page hosted by BCCAT. There was discussion last year around trying this out as our group’s primary communication area. I can already see some advantages around this platform around centralised folders and locations for documents, discussions, polls etc., along with other challenges elsewhere … but let’s give it a go!

TASK - Please set up your account in advance of our meeting next month

To set up your account please do the following:

You need to:

  1. Create an account https://moodle.bccat.ca/login/index.php
  2. Once you log in, self-enrol to the Geography AC Moodle page.  See Moodle Page Self-Enrolment Instructions

Note: check your junk folder for your confirmation email ...

THIS PAGE IS WHERE INSTITUTIONAL REPORTS WILL BE SUBMITTED THIS YEAR, PLEASE SET UP IN ADVANCE OF THE MEETING. I will also be using this to communicate about the meeting leading to our dates. Announcements and posts are all saved in case your schedule does not allow you to create an account right away.

I have started a few tabs that seemed like logical headings to me, please do send me feedback on the layout, other things I might try etc (far...@uvic.ca).  It is a while since I used Blackboard (a variant of Moodle) so I have forgotten much about how it works. There are empty folders right now, but I will be adding files soon!

We will have a quick discussion, overview as part of our business meeting on May 31.

Good luck everyone navigating the end of term hectancy!

Kind Regards,

Shannon Fargey (UVIC)
