I wanted to draw your attention to some future events, with deadline for submission in the next two months, with SRM components.
Register to one, or more, of the following events and present your SRM-relevant research!
Please share widely within your communities.
The World Climate Research Program (WCRP) Lighthouse Activity “Research on Climate Intervention” and the Core Activity “Atmospheric Processes and their Role in Climate” are hosting a series of Virtual Workshops, in which the community can discuss the topic
of Stratospheric Aerosol Injection (SAI). We welcome brief presentations from groups interested in showcasing and discussing their research on the topic, as well as participants that are interested in learning more and discussing potential future research
activities.
Please submit an abstract or register before 15 August 2025.
Themes
Observational strategies: detection, monitoring and attribution
SAI modeling: processes, capabilities and uncertainties
Simulation strategies and scenario exploration (emulators)
Impacts on atmospheric composition, from the stratosphere to air quality
Global and regional surface climatic impacts, including societal and ecological
Ethical aspects of studying and testing SAI
Please note that this event is only related to SAI, but with the WCRP LHA we will be happy to support similar events for MCB or CCT if there is interest.
Event 2: AGU Fall meeting 2025 - GC005 Advances in Climate Engineering Science
happening 15-19 December 2025 in New Orleans, LA.
Please submit an abstract by Wednesday, 30 July 2025 at 23:59 EDT/03:59 UTC
Event 3: CMIP Community Workshop (CMIP26), happening 9th-13th March 2026 in Kyoto, Japan
Session on: Progress in modelling solar radiation modification through GeoMIP
The deadline for abstract submission is 12:00 UTC, 13 August 2025.
(Note that this will be followed by the GeoMIP meeting the week after in Tokyo)
If you have questions, please reach out to me, Walker (for the AGU session) or Matthew (for the CMIP session).
Best,
Daniele
