This new paper in Climate Dynamics is relevant to stratospheric sulfate aerosol geoengineering.
The interhemispheric difference in forcing causes a sure signal in tropical monsoon systems. Some of you may be already well aware of this. In this new paper, we quantified this sensitivity for stratospheric sulfate aerosol loading. The northern hemispheric monsoon index changes by ~7% per 0.1 change in the AOD difference between the hemispheres and ~ 6% per 1 K change in temperature difference between the hemispheres.
