All,
The Dino Killer (author of the K-Pg extinction event 65 Ma) has always been another of my weird little interests, this time crossing with geoengineering in a big Venn-like way.
Would you believe that just last night, the late-night anchor (Ms. Aby Philips) on our national cable news network (CNN) this story?

· In a study published in Nature Geoscience, researchers suggest that solid particulates (predominantly silicate) from the Chicxulub asteroid impact played a dominant role in the radiative forcing leading to the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event (impact winter), contrary to the widely accepted theory that sulfur aerosols led to the mass extinction. After doing a completely credible introduction, Ms. Philips brought on this pretty hip physicist, Hakeem Oluseyi (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hakeem_Oluseyi) to delve into the details of suspended particulates, radiation balance, and collapse of the food web. She suggested that the Nature Geoscience paper seemed applicable to managing climate change, and he riffed on that. All in all, satisfying. And surprising.
