Hi all,

Reflective is excited to announce that we have released our first funding opportunity — Impacts and Tradeoffs of Simulated High-Latitude/Low-Altitude SAI Deployment! The details for this opportunity are below:

Title: Impacts and Tradeoffs of Simulated High-Latitude/Low-Altitude SAI Deployment
Context: While most SAI models assume injection above 20 km, existing aircraft can only operate at 9-13 km—meaning injection can only happen at high-altitudes. This RFP seeks proposals to evaluate the impacts of a theoretical high-latitude/low-altitude SAI deployment, and to assess the tradeoffs between this approach and potential other strategies.
Budget: $400K total in funding, max award size of $100K
Key Dates: Optional expression of interest is due Wednesday, May 21st, 2025. Apply by 11pm Pacific Time (PT) on Monday, June 9th, 2025. Recipients announced the week of August 4th, 2025 with an anticipated start date of September 1st, 2025.

Please check out the full RFP for full details including applicant eligibility, research goals, application process, and evaluation criteria.

P.S. We are recruiting reviewers for this funding opportunity. If you are not applying and interested in being a reviewer, please fill out this form. If you know of academics who would be well-suited to review applications for this funding opportunity, please submit their names here.

Best,
The Reflective Team
